FactsRecent events at the Grand Chapter have dissolved the Kappa Sweetheart group as originally created. The decree began in 1978. In 1978, the Grand Board of Directors stated in the directives of September 30, 1978 ( http://www.kappaalphapsi1911.com/fraternity/mtk.asp ) that due to what was deemed "unfair" competition to the sororities and inappropriate acts by the Kittens at the time, the groups being maintained by the brothers of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. must be disbanded. in 1980, the Board of Directors of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., granted a seat on the Board of the Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation to the National Silhouette President. ( http://www.kappaalphapsi1911.com/silhouette/index3.htm ) Policy Statement #87-12 ( http://www.kappaalphapsi1911.com/silhouette/index3.htm ), officially organized the National Silhouettes of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. The Silhouettes are chartered as an auxiliary to Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and are allowed to promote the organization of local Silhouette chapters, provide activities for visiting Silhouettes during Kappa Conclaves, develop national service projects of interest to all Silhouette chapters, establish uniform policies and procedures for all local chapters and most importantly to serve as the official auxiliary to Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. GB #88-05 ( http://www.kappaalphapsi1911.com/fraternity/illegal_groups.asp ), created and endorsed in February 1, 1988, also states that brothers may not participate in pledge activities of any other female auxiliary group except for those activities approved by the Grand Board of Directors.
